I am betting some of these people have pets in their lives that mean a lot to them...I know of 5 people going WAY above and beyond the call of duty for animals - yet they are never mentioned in mainstream media, which I find odd since pets (of all types from the very small to the very large) are such a huge part of the American way of life.
There are animal hero's working every day in ...every aspect of animal welfare - why doesn't CNN or some other well known news/television/radio group - A NON ANIMAL RELATED GROUP that can get the word out to the general public - do something like this for animal hero's?
If there are any out there, please let me know, I have not able to find one group that does something like this for animal hero's that isn't animal related.
I'd love to hear Anderson Cooper's thoughts on this...

Because not only did they allow this poor guy to starve nearly to death, they were going to allegedly send him to slaughter or in some other fashion end his life on Sunday. So, we called our hauler and he said absolutely he would go get the horse - he canceled his plans for the day and spent more than 5 hours (one way) driving to get him and was appauled at what he saw when he arrived. He said that the people that did this to him should go to jail and it is the worst he has ever seen.
Once he has a forever home, if he recovers, we will be using Mattie's Legacy Fund to transport him again. Angel Acres will make sure he gets a loving, wonderful forever home!
Thank you to everyone who has donated to Mattie's Fund in the past and those who have thought about donating...without you...we could not have helped Crocket - he is the 11th horse we have assisted in just the past month...

The eBay Giving Works program allows eBay sellers to donate to their favorite charities (you can pick a lot of them) by simply listing an item on eBay!
Here is a list of current eBay auctions that are benefitting the velvet-nosed gang at Angel Acres!
Click here to learn how you make any auction benefit Angel Acres or any charity!
Also, if you'd like to save Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue as a favorite and you can skip steps 1-3 (in the link above) or start right from the Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue About My Nonprofit page click the sell tab and you can also skip steps 1-3.
In both cases Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue will be prepopulated to benefit from the listing so you don’t have to search the MissionFish database.
Give At Checkout:
Saving and deleting favorite nonprofits:
You can save as many favorite nonprofits as you want. If you save multiple nonprofits, they will appear in random order each time you complete an eBay purchase or create an eBay listing.
Only one nonprofit will appear at eBay checkout each time.
To choose the nonprofit you'll see at checkout:
1)Click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages. You may need to sign in.
2) Place your pointer over the Account tab, and then select Donation Account.
3) In the My Favorite Nonprofit section, search for your favorite nonprofit by name and save it.
Other ways to save a nonprofit as a favorite:
Visit your Donation Account in My eBay and select one of the featured nonprofits.
Visit the About My Nonprofit page for any nonprofit in our directory and click the Save as Favorite link.

1) Founding a new organization designed to help and promote thoroughbreds.
2) Attending the Cupcake Camp L.A. event that will benefit the Angel Acres gang, Invisible People, and Tortoise Rescue.
3) Attending Legendary Bingo in West Hollywood that will benefit Angel Acres.
For quite a while now several of us (in the rescue and horse welfare world) have been trying to promote the thoroughbred horse as more than a race horse. We will be meeting out in L.A. to found this new organization and we will update you when we have completed the process and will announce the details of our fledgling organization. (pertinent names, websites, etc have been secured at this time)
It will be a non profit dedicated to promoting the thoroughbred breed as a sport horse. An association in which the horses are not bred for the sport but are already here waiting on a second career.
After some test marketing and speaking to literally dozens of people we have decided to move forward with our plans and expect a great reception for our new organization!
Have a happy weekend!
