SUPER DUPER big thanks to the ASPCA for making this much needed building possible for us! FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 7, 2011 (Glenville, Pa.)- The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (the ASPCA) granted Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue Inc. funds specifically for a hay storage building. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. “ We are so excited to have received this grant from The ASPCA! Our new hay building is in place and already hard at work keeping our hay safe and dry. We truly cannot express how grateful we are to The ASPCA for this grant.” said Jo Deibel, Founder and President of Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue. Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue saves horses bound for slaughter for human consumption and assists in cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment. Founded in 2004 by Jo Deibel Angel Acres is a 501c3 non profit organization chartered by the State of Pennsylvania. A flagship program of Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue is Mattie’s Legacy Fund. Funds are used to save horses from slaughter and to assist local horse owners that are in immediate need of assistance with grain, hay or farrier care. Angel Acres is a GFAS (Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries) Accredited facility.
