Angel Acres - Hay, We Need It!

Happy Wednesday from Glenville, PA! We've started the Angel Acres Annual Hay Drive! Again, this year I've donated my birthday wish to the Angel Acres Hay Drive. Click HERE to see my birthday wish! PLEASE help if you can - Hay is our #1 expense - we feed A LOT of hay! Remember NO donation is too small! Hay can literally mean the difference between life and death for a horse. Starving horses need it to begin their recovery after rescue, healthy horses need it to maintain good health and even older horses who may get senior feed need hay too. If we could have one wish, it would be for the hay fairy to bring us a big ole load of hay! But, since we don't have an in with the hay fairy, we are asking the Angel Acres Gang to consider making a donation - no amount is too small or too large - to help us get this seasons hay! How Important Is It Really? Your donation of as little as $10 can help us get the hay we need for the season, helping us to make the life of a once slaughter bound, neglected or abused horse just a little bit brighter. The horses at Angel Acres know EXACTLY when breakfast, lunch, midday snacks and dinner are served and boy oh boy do they let us know if we are late!!! Help us keep these ladies and gentleman happy and healthy and make a donation to our hay fund today! Some folks asked about PayPal - we do have a paypal addy - angelacreshorsehaven@yahoo.com is our paypal address. Also...if you have extra hay from last season and would like to donate it to our gang, please email me and we can arrange to have it picked up quickly! Thank you for taking the time to read this email and please share with others and help us get the word out about our hay drive! Have a super happy week ahead,, Jo Deibel :o) Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue, Inc. PO Box 62, Glenville, PA 17329

Angel Acres Tree & Grace Arrives...

Angel Acres' Decorate The Tree Event Has Begun! November 26, 2011 - Glenville, PA Good Morning and Let the Holiday Cheer Begin!!!! Our 3rd Annual Angel Acres Decorate the Tree Event has begun! As little as a $1 (even in today's economy) will help horses in dire need of that Holiday Cheer and a renewed life in the years to follow...How do you ask?...By reaching the masses...Well sort of like that shampoo commercial of old...by you telling one person and them telling one person, and so on... Most importantly though, YOUR donations help horses like Grace, shown below on the day she was siezed by local authorities last month. The 1st photo shows her being removed from the location where she was apparently denied food and water, and kept locked up...literally locked in a very small building. The photo below is AFTER One month's care in quarantine at the local animal control farm - still looking really thin, probably wormy and in need of SERIOUS TLC. She is shown arriving on Thanksgiving Day to the Angel Acres training/rehabilitation facility. (you can click her picture below to see her facebook post & leave a comment for her, too) YOUR support makes a HUGE difference in the lives of the horses we touch each day. Please help fill our tree and the bellies of starving and neglected horses this holiday season. Our tree has 6 cards so far - but we are hopeful it will fill up soon! If you would like to help us get past the Charlie Brown Christmas tree look, send your card, with yourholiday gift of a $1 or more and we will joyously post YOUR first name along with a photo of YOUR Card displayed within one of the many available branches via our daily blog updates! If you would like to do even More...Consider being a Secret Santa for one of the many horses currently being cared for at our facility or a sponsor for an incoming horse in need. The average cost to provide vet, farrier & dental care, hay, feed, blankets, etc., runs approximately $2500 annually per horse. Please send your card to us at: Angel Acres PO Box 62 Glenville, PA 17329 THANK YOU for your help & have a super happy Saturday! Jo :o) Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue, Inc. Just 2 Days Left!!!

Just 2 Days Left to Help Us Spread The Word!! We have just 2 days to go in our billboard campaign challenge fundraiser on Global Giving - you have pushed over our goal and we will be able to get about 10* billboards up around the nation! Woo Hoo!! We are the ONLY horse rescue in the challenge, the ONLY animal charity in the Top 40 charities, have THE MOST facebook shares (we get a bonus for that), we are on the 1st page of "most popular projects" and you have moved us up to 4th place out of the 200 charities in the challenge!! Please consider a donation to our efforts to help raise awareness about horse slaughter - we can't do it without support from the horse and animal loving community...we still need your support for a big ending (we would LOVE to finish in the Top 3) and.... If we can get to 1st place we could win a BIG donation from Global Giving as bonus grants are still undecided (we are not that far behind)! Only at the conclusion of the Challenge are bonus grant recipients decided. If we get to the top of the leaderboard, we could receive up to $3,000 or more from GlobalGiving!!! (that would mean even MORE billboards up around the country - so please consider a donation today!) This is SO important to raising awareness in the general non-horse owning public about horse slaughter. We NEED your support to make it happen - NO donation is too small & EVERY donation puts us that much closer to our goal! Our boards are doing EXACTLY what we want them to do...making people aware and not letting them remain oblivious or turn away from the fact that 100,000 American horses are exported to be brutally slaughtered for human consumption EACH YEAR. People CANNOT fix a problem they are not aware and a LARGE majority of the country has no idea our horses are being brutally slaughtered to be served up as fine dining for foreign consumers. If you haven't checked it out yet and want to learn how you can help our efforts - sharing, donating, reading, etc then - CLICK HERE TO HELP! We are trying to get the message out to the public in as positive a fashion as possible (no graphic photos) - our horses are being slaughtered! The Stop Slaughtering Us educational companion website hits are increasing daily - meaning people are seeing the billboard and then visiting the site. We receive no federal, state or corporate funding for this awareness and educational effort. Thank you for helping us - we cannot do it without your support! Jo Deibel :o) Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue, Inc. PO Box 62, Glenville, PA 17329 *Our current total will allow us to get approximately 10 boards up in 10 states. Below is the Branson, MO billboard that went up last Tuesday! It's in a GREAT location and already we are seeing the website hits increase and the shocked emails have started. Line from most recent email "who the hell is our eating our horses?! What can I do?" - EXACTLY what we want...people learning about horse slaughter and then stepping up to see what they can do to stop it. PRICELESS

You helped get us our permanent spot on the Global Giving website! This will allow potentially millions of readers see us each month! We are onto the second part of the challenge (which is funding 15 to 20 additional boards around the country) and you have already helped us earn a bonus from Global Giving for being one of THE MOST shared projects on Facebook and Twitter!!! Channel 6 in Richmond Airs Angel Acres Billboard Story!

Channel 6 In Richmond Airs Our Billboard Story!! As you may know, Angel Acres Anti Horse Slaughter Billboard Campaign was accepted by the Global Giving website - a HUGE boost to our horse slaughter awareness efforts. We need to complete our fundraising goal to secure a permanent spot on the Global Giving site. We have 21 days to raise the remaining amount needed, $1535. Click HERE to see the news story about our billboard on I-95 in Richmond, VA via Channel 6 News from Monday night (be sure to pay special attention to the "animal lover" lady). Global Giving will give us a chance to reach MILLIONS of people each month about our efforts! We need your help to make it happen! We are trying to get the message out to the public in as positive a fashion as possible (no graphic photos) - our horses are being slaughtered! The Stop Slaughtering Us educational companion website hits are increasing daily - meaning people are seeing the billboard and then visiting the site. The pro slaughter groups would love for us to fail and not make it, we cannot let that happen. SUPER Big thanks to Cindy at Central Virginia Horse Rescue for meeting with the reporter on just a few minutes notice. Be sure to visit their site and check them out! They are doing great things for the horses in Central Virginia and Beyond! We receive no federal, state or corporate funding for this awareness and educational effort. PLEASE help us raise the remaining funds needed to get our forever place on Global Giving. Have a great week and THANK YOU for helping us spread the word, Jo Deibel :o) Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue, Inc. PO Box 62, Glenville, PA 17329

HELP US GO NATIONAL!!

Help Us Go National!! We are working hard to take the Angel Acres Anti Horse Slaughter Billboard Campaign national! Our billboard project was accepted by the Global Giving website - a HUGE boost to our horse slaughter awareness efforts. In order to get a permanent spot on their site we need at least 50 people to donate and help us raise funds for the billboard campaign. So far, 12 people have donated to the effort - we need at least 38 more people to donate to our project in order to secure a permanent spot on the Global Giving site; we have a very short time to do it in. Why are we asking for your help to make this go national and why is this particular spot so importantl? It's simple - posting on forums and chat rooms, private groups, etc is NOT enough to spread the word that American horses are being shipped across the borders into Mexico and Canada to be brutally slaughtered - EVERY SINGLE DAY! Global Giving will give us a chance to reach MILLIONS of people each month about our efforts! People cannot fix a problem they are not aware of & many people in the United States do not know thousands of horses are shipped to Mexico and Canada to be slaughtered – DAILY. We receive no federal, state or corporate funding for this awareness and educational effort. PLEASE help us raise the funds needed to get our forever place on Global Giving. Have a great week ahead and THANK YOU for helping us spread the word, Jo Deibel :o) Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue, Inc. PO Box 62, Glenville, PA 17329
