Angel Acres is Halfway Home (metaphorically speaking ;o)

Half Way To Our Goal! Angel Acres Anti Horse Slaughter Billboard Campaign was accepted by the Global Giving website - a HUGE boost to our horse slaughter awareness efforts. We are HALF WAY to our goal!! WOO HOOO!!!! If we can reach our goal amount in the next 10 days we will be able to get 10 more billboards up around the country*! This is SO important to raising awareness in the general non-horse owning public about horse slaughter. We NEED your support to make it happen - NO donation is too small & EVERY donation puts us that much closer to our goal! Our boards are doing EXACTLY what we want them to do...making people aware and not letting them remain oblivious or turn away from the fact that 100,000 American horses are exported to be brutally slaughtered for human consumption EACH YEAR. People CANNOT fix a problem they are not aware and a LARGE majority of the country has no idea our horses are being brutally slaughtered to be served up as fine dining for foreign consumers. If you haven't checked it out yet and want to learn how you can help our efforts - sharing, donating, reading, etc then -CLICK HERE TO HELP! We are trying to get the message out to the public in as positive a fashion as possible (no graphic photos) - our horses are being slaughtered! The Stop Slaughtering Us educational companion website hits are increasing daily - meaning people are seeing the billboard and then visiting the site. We receive no federal, state or corporate funding for this awareness and educational effort. Thank you for helping us - we cannot do it without your support! Jo Deibel :o) Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue, Inc. PO Box 62, Glenville, PA 17329 *Our current total will allow us to get approximately 5 boards up in 5 states.

Caring Hearts Really Cares About Horses!

SUPER DUPER BIG THANKS TO PAT BOYER & CARING HEARTS AMBULANCE!

We were working diligently to raise the funds for a Kentucky billboard to keep our awareness campaign moving forward around the nation - click here to see our WJZ TV story and the billboards in action - we were half way to the amount needed for the board in KY when I posted on the Angel Acres Facebook Page.

Pat, who has been an Angel Acres supporter for just over a year, posted a challenge to the Angel Acres Gang and offered to match all donations that came in till we reached our goal! We reached it in almost no time!!!

We truly cannot thank her and Caring Hearts enough; because of her challenge and the kindness of others who have donated to this board we will be putting up a board in KY!!! Reaching more people around the country to raise awareness about horse slaughter - click here to see the billbaords companion site (no graphic images).

Also, Pat is the fabulous lady who offered up her barn without a moments hesistation for us to store the 2500 bales of donated hay we received this past summer. Pat has also supported us in our other fundraising efforts and continually offers her help and assistance.

Big thanks to Pat and Caring Hearts - we couldn't have done it without you!

Angel Acres Stop Slaughtering Us Billboards are UP!

Our anti horse slaughter billboards are up in Baltimore, MD. Here is one of them in action!

We are so very, very thankful to the folks at Clear Channel Outdoor in Laurel, MD. We could NOT have done this without their incredible kindness and generosity! We cannot thank them enough for donating the spaces to us!!

Angel Acres truly believes that if the general non-horse owning public knew what was going on -

that 100,000 horses a YEAR were being shipped to Canada and Mexico to be brutally slaughtered -

they would be outraged and help us (us being the rescue and horse welfare community) FINALLY get the legislation passed that would end the slaughter by sealing our nation's borders.

And here's something we are addressing in tomorrows video and I can never say it enough -

Horse Slaughter is NOT humane euthanasia!

This is NOT a nationally funded campaign, we are a grass roots group trying to make the public aware of what is going on - we would love more help getting more billboards up - if you'd like to help sponsor a billboard click here and mark your donation "Anti Slaughter Campaign" - each board runs $300 and no donation is too small - together we CAN make this public awareness campaign a great success!

If you are interested in a sponsored board, it will be specially printed and made in honor of a loved one - furry or human :o) (will read something like ... "This billboard space graciously donated by Clear Channel Outdoor and is in honor of...) contact Fran via email for more info about board sponsorship.

If you would like to donate to our Anti-Horse Slaughter Awareness Campaign you can donate securely (just note Anti Slaughter Awareness Campaign in the designation box) by clicking here.

Special thanks to our graphic design team at Ebrand Advertising who, amazingly, STILL pick up the phone when I call ;o)
